During the last election we got beat over the head about the importance of the independent or swing voter. Flash back to the post debate studio audience interviews that had some participants still on the fence, undecided but leaning either Democratic or Republican even up until the eve of the election. The coin-flippers. Well excuse me if I don't wait on your decision before making up my mind. Talk about indecisiveness.
Now once again we get to hear about how this or that candidate has the majority of their party's votes but may not fare as well with independents or swingers. Okay. There aren't a lot of secrets out there waiting to be uncovered. The U.S. has suffered on the world stage because of a lack of diplomacy, the economy could use a boost, poor kids don't have health insurance and trillions of dollars have been spent on a flawed military strategy that has neglected wounded and returning veterans.
Some political strategists including some reporters are attempting to distract us with polling numbers or meaningless intangibles such as likability factors possibly to prevent us from considering worthwhile traits such as leadership skills, competence or intelligence. We must insist on receiving objective reporting from mainstream media outlets. And lastly for the sanity of all, this time around let's not humor the independents or procrastinating undecideds (who are probably faking anyway), and adopt the theme, "Lead, Follow, or Get the Hell out of the Way".
