Reminiscent of General Custer at the Little Big Horn, Texas is where Hillary Clinton will make her last stand. Barack Obama has Hillary surrounded and is preparing to mount a contest ending assault. No one would have predicted that the Clinton campaign would be on the ropes at this juncture. It was supposed to be the other way around.
Momentum
is a funny thing. It defies logic. People like a winner and Obama is
undeniably a winner after eight straight wins. At the rate he is
going, he may win Ohio, Texas and Pennsylvania, the latter despite Gov. Rendell's latest revelation.
Hillary's battle cry may be "Remember the Alamo", but if my memory serves me right, I don't think that the combatants actually survived the Alamo. The stark reality for Hillary and Bill Clinton is that the race to determine the 2008 Democratic Presidential Nominee may be over and Hillary will not win.
Sidebar: If previous tactics used by the Clinton campaign offer a clue, expect things to get real ugly for Obama in the days leading up to the next primaries.
