In the race for the White House on the Democratic side, I thought that at this point in the contest, Hillary Clinton would be taking victory laps. How wrong I was. I miss calculated. Barack Obama is in the stretch run with Hillary and if you haven't realized it already, Barack could win. Bill and Hillary know that he can win and that reality drove the Clintons to try and define the race in terms of black and white (and brown) after losing in Iowa. Because of a "lingering resentment" of that strategy being employed, this contest is not sewn up by Hillary and will proceed unsettled towards the Democratic Convention.
That situation possibly means that the Democratic Convention will be divided. The Democrats will need to get it together and the best way to achieve that goal may be a Clinton/Obama ticket or Obama/Clinton ticket. Although this ticket may allow the Democrats the best chance of winning in November, theirs is not the best team for governance in the White House. Neither one of these persons could stomach playing second fiddle to the other. That's a recipe for trouble and disharmony.
Sidebar: Check that. The team of three, Barack, Hillary and Bill would find it next to impossible to coexist in the White House.
